Trinity Hall for All
Together with the University we offer the Cambridge Bursary scheme
to support students from the lowest income households. An enhanced scheme was introduced in 2022 to
help support around 30% more students from a wider range of backgrounds.
Your donation today can help support undergraduates by providing additional financial assistance allowing them to make the most of their time at Cambridge.
The impact of your gift
"This additional funding was key to allowing me to stay in Cambridge over the holidays, enabling me to access libraries and other resources to improve my knowledge and expand my interests outside of term time. I don't think I would be as happy with my work this year, particularly my Part I dissertation, if this wasn't possible! It also gave me the support to stay over the Easter Vacation without needing to work a job in the holidays, which helped me dedicate as much time as I could to revision and writing."

Why are donations necessary?
Even with a government student loan and a Cambridge Bursary, some students will find the cost of undertaking their course to be untenable. This financial challenge affects their wellbeing and can deter talented students from applying. We offer additional support for students who join the University from local authority care or who are estranged from their families. In addition, the scheme offers a supplementary award to all low-income students who qualified for free school meals.
A recent study by the University showed that 90% of undergraduates who receive a Cambridge Bursary said it helped them focus on their studies and 87% said the financial support made them feel less anxious.
In 2022-23, 93 Trinity Hall undergraduates received a
Cambridge Bursary, of whom 55 were receiving the maximum award of £3,500.
